Privacy Policy

Preservation Co (“Preservation Co,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates preservationco.com and the related dashboard, email, and SMS messaging services (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to anyone who browses our website, contacts us, places an order, books a consultation, or opts in to receive messages from us.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Contact information you give us — name, email address, mailing address, and phone number — when you place an order, request a quote, fill out our custom door form, or subscribe to messages.
- Order and project details — items purchased, customization choices, project notes, shipping address, delivery preferences, and communications with our team.
- Payment information — we never see or store your full card number. Card details are tokenized in the browser by our payment processor (Stax Payments) and we only receive a transaction id and the last four digits.
- Site usage — pages visited, referring URL, approximate location, browser, and device. This is collected via Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Umami for product and site improvement.
How we use information
- To fulfill orders, schedule pickups, and arrange freight.
- To answer questions about products, provide quotes for custom work, and follow up on consultation requests.
- To send you order updates, shipping notifications, and receipts.
- With your consent, to send you SMS messages about your orders, custom work in progress, restock notifications, or occasional updates about new pieces.
- To prevent fraud, debug technical issues, and improve the Services.
SMS and text messaging
We will not share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in data with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. This restriction applies to all categories of personal information collected as part of our SMS program; mobile opt-in and consent data is not shared with anyone for any reason other than to deliver the message you requested.
How you opt in. You opt in to receive text messages from us by entering your phone number on our website, during checkout, on our custom door request form, or by texting START to a number we provide. By opting in, you agree to receive transactional and informational text messages from Preservation Co at the number you provided.
Message frequency. Message frequency varies based on your activity — typically fewer than 8 messages per month per active project or order. You will only receive messages directly related to your inquiry, order, or custom build unless you separately opt in to promotional updates.
Message and data rates may apply. Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply to each message we send or you send to us.
How you opt out. Reply STOP to any text message at any time to opt out. We will send a single confirmation message and will not send further marketing or informational SMS to that number. You can also opt out by emailing shop@preservationco.com. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at the email above.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
We use Resend to send and receive transactional emails (order confirmations, invoices, replies to your inquiries). If you reply to one of our emails, the reply is delivered to our team’s shared inbox so we can respond. We do not sell your email address.
How we share information
We share personal information only with the service providers we use to operate the business, and only as needed for them to provide their service to us. These include:
- Stax Payments — credit card processing.
- Google Cloud / Firebase — hosting, database, authentication, and email storage.
- Resend — email delivery and inbound email receipt.
- Twilio — SMS delivery (where applicable).
- Freight carriers (FedEx, FedEx Freight, USPS, UPS, and partner freight lines) — to ship your order. Your shipping address and contact information are shared only as needed for delivery.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in records, or text-message content with any third party for marketing or promotional purposes.
We may disclose information when required by law (subpoena, court order, or other legal process) or to protect our rights, property, or safety.
Data retention
We keep order, project, and communication records for as long as needed to support warranties, returns, accounting, tax obligations, and ongoing customer service. SMS opt-in records are kept while you remain opted in and for a reasonable period after opt-out to demonstrate compliance.
Your choices
- Email. Unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email, or reply asking us to remove you.
- SMS. Reply STOP to any message to opt out.
- Access or deletion. Email us at shop@preservationco.com to request a copy of the information we have on file, or to ask us to delete it. Some information must be retained for legal or accounting reasons.
- Cookies and analytics. You can use browser controls or extensions to limit analytics cookies. We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising.
Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We protect information with industry-standard safeguards — encrypted transport (HTTPS), tokenized card handling, role-based access to internal tools, and audit logs on sensitive operations. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to reduce risk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, the effective date at the top will change and (for material changes) we will notify customers who have opted in to receive notices.
